Great product, works with everything I triedOct 07, 2010
By S. Kosloske Of course, it's not perfect, but it's the best line-out adapter I could find for the price. I tested it with an older iPod video, the newest iPod classic, 2 generations of iPod micro, an iPhone 3G and iPhone 4. Works with all of them, but you do get a warning message pop-up on the iPhone because it's not a registered add-on. No a big deal, but it's good to know to expect it.
Works perfectly fine, clicks on nicely. Even works fine with the "bumper" style case on the iPhone 4. Will NOT work with a thicker case on the iphone 3G or 3GS.
Audio-out bypasses the iPod/iPhone amplifier, so changing the volume is not needed on the iPod at all.
The addition of the mini-USB for charging is a great idea, and works at the same time as the audio-out. Plugging/unplugging the mini-USB while listening does not seem to affect audio output at all, no pops or clicks.
Overall, a great product if you want to use your iPod/iPhone as a line-out into a headphone amp.
Highly recommended.

Does what it saysMay 12, 2010
By C. faust I bought this product to attach to the NuForce preamplifier. I does what it advertises. I found the product well made. What i don't like about the adapter is the lack of any clips to secure it to the ipod so it doesn't take much to wiggle it loose. Also the 3.5mm headphone jack doesn't seat very securly, if it is move around a good bit i loose one channel of the audio till i press it back in. Not really a negative per say but the included double sided 3.5mm headphone cord is as thick as most USB 2.0 cables, a bit over kill in my opinion. It is a good quality cable but is really stiff and makes using the rubberband to secure the ipod and preamp difficult. Overall i rate it three stars, if you plan to connect it to a home stereo where it won't get moved around alot the negitives won't be a problem.

works as advertised, very convenient, highly recommendedNov 22, 2009
By A. Rivera I purchased this to not only benefit from the better-sounding line out audio, but also cause my cheap sync cable that came w my ipod touch (thanks apple) broke, but i have MANY mini-USB cables, and i can not only charge using it but also sync my comp w it! works GREAT, no nagging popups from my ipod (it recognizes it!) highly recommended for those who have an external headphone amp (like me) and want a better audio experience!
decent productDec 30, 2010
By john good:
-allows for both audio output and charging to be done at once with separate usb and audio output jack
-small and nice looking
-seems durable
Bad:
-disconnects easily from iPod. needs to be taped in for more reliable performance. failure to tape it to ipod causes audio to stop playing
-most cases cannot be put on iPod when connected to product
-expensive
Overall i would recommend buying a different product
Bypasses iPod volumeApr 26, 2010
By Sugith Varughese A good addition if you use a NuForce Icon Mobile amp/DAC with your iPod. It clips onto the iPod jack and you plug your Icon Mobile amp into it, rather than the headphone jack of the iPod. Consequently, the internal volume control of the iPod is bypassed and all volume control is handled by the Icon Mobile's volume.
I find that it helps with the sound quality, though I don't think it's taking the digital out and converting it like a Wadia iPod transport would.
