3Check the size!May 27, 2010
I would like to start by saying that I have absolutely no issues with the way the remote works! It is truly plug and play!
My issues with are mostly with the design. First off, because the pictures on Amazon didn't show the remote in profile, I was sadly surprised to find out that it's essentially a brick! It's about 1 1/4" thick throughout, with a slight finger indentation at the middle. While this might not sound particularly thick, it's about twice what my old MCE remote is. Again, this is just personal preference, but, had I known this I wouldn't have purchased it.
I find the buttons too small and cramped for my thick, arthritic fingers. The biggest problem, however, is that buttons require more finger pressure than any remote I've used in years! While some might find the high pressure nice, as it gives the user a lot more feedback, I find that, along with the very small size of the buttons, incredibly uncomfortable.
The trackball is definitely a nice feature, and, I have to say, it works very well considering its small size!
Basically, however, the bulkiness and small, uncomfortable buttons make this otherwise nice remote a solid three stars to me!

5Good product, Great price!Feb 11, 2010
Had some issues with delivery, but that was a post office issue. Customer service was friendly and accommodating even though it was Xmas time. Remote works as promised right out of the box. Hulu is a lot more enjoyable now that I don't have to get off my chair every time I want to pause the show.

5Windows 7-Compatible Media Center RF RemoteOct 28, 2009
I just received the NuForce MCR RF Wireless Remote Control and I am very pleased with it. The remote is radiofrequency-based so it does not require line-of-site to a receiver (you can point the remote anywhere and it will work). The remote has all of the standard media center buttons like 'my music', volume-control, pause/play, etc., but best of all it includes a track-ball mouse built right into it! This makes the remote useful for non-media center tasks as well (e.g. launching a web browser, clicking a bookmark, launching a game from Windows Games Explorer). Setup was simple; I turned on my PC, Windows 7 Professional 64-bit loaded up, then I plugged in the RF receiver that came with the remote; within 30 seconds, I was using the tracker to control the mouse, and the shortcuts on the remote to launch Media Center and load up a Netflix video. The remote itself feels solid and is comfortable to hold.

The only thing I don't like is that the tracker ball for the mouse is not clickable, so if you use your thumb to control it, you'll have to move your thumb off of the tracker ball to click the right or left "mouse button" located to either side of the tracker. No big deal, just a minor flaw. Finally, the remote is currently (as of 10/09) being sold directly by NuForce. I received my order less than 48 hours after it was placed... Great job, NuForce!

Overall, I am very impressed with this product, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a Windows Media Center remote, an RF (versus infrared)-based remote, or a remote that includes a built in mouse.

I rate this product 5/5 stars.
