Great sound and versatilityMay 07, 2012
By jaguar_1979 I had never purchased more than functional headphones before and didn't use headphones a lot, but since I commute on a noisy train, thought I would upgrade my earphones. Ironically, I read about these earphones in a Wired article while commuting. They have a microphone in addition to the earbuds, which gives them great versatility.
Pros: Great quality sound, helpful customer service, versatility, durability, and comes with enough rubber tips to fit any ear for proper sound isolation.
Cons: A bit heavy in the ear. Would order Nuforce's lighter earbuds for jogging, and sound quality is nearly the same.

"Hoping for that last leap home"
These are decent IEMs in their own right. They're great value for the money in terms of the quality of both sound and build. But in the end they weren't for me. Even after over 20 hours of burn-in, they still sounded too "warm" and lacked clarity on most music. And as an iDevice user, I've been spoiled by 3-button remotes, so the throwback to a one-button control unit was painful.
Beyond that, however, there were a couple of quality issues. The ear tips started slipping off the "nozzles" of these headphones, an unacceptable situation I encountered on the Ultimate Ears SuperFi 5vi Noise Isolating Earphones w/ Microphone (and no other IEM). And the control unit only worked about 2/3 - 3/4 of the time. The product description on these says "Improved Mic New Production," but I'm dubious - buyer beware.
Finally, the units are just a little too big and heavy. They definitely "drag" on my ears after a couple of hours, which is no good, for example, on long flights.
I returned these (thanks for making this easy, Amazon) and since bought the Nocs NS400-001 NS400 Earphones with Remote and Mic (Titanium - Black), which really hit the nail on the head for me.
Excellent earphonesApr 29, 2012
By Theferrari I've owned both Bose and Shure entry level in-ear headphones, and I can say confidently that these are far better than either, especially for the price. I bought them because of a very positive review in Wired and they exceeded my expectations. The sound is clear and rich, even when surrounded by a noisy city.
I use an iPhone 4S, and Siri understands me more frequently with this headset than with Apple's headphones, which I would think is an objective vote for the microphone as well.

I'm not an audiophile or a discerning headphone enthusiast, but I can still say that these are the best earbuds I've ever had. Great fit, great bass, and a real solid feel to them. The cord is also less prone to getting tangled than most other headphones I've used, which is a huge plus. The only disadvantage is that if none of the three sizes of rubber buds fit your ear, you might have issues because the earbuds themselves are pretty massive. Not a problem for me, and certainly not a reason not to check them out.
