Not superior to the NE-700Jan 24, 2012
By Nomad77 I was hoping because of the 770 model number that these would be better than my NE-700s and while they are cheaper they are certainly not better. Maybe the old adage you get what you pay for is at play. I've had the NE-700s for awhile now and in general I like them. They are a bit bass heavy and the mids are not clear as they could be but they are smooth and warm. The 770 in comparison have a more accurate bass response and more forward mids and highs but they are not as smooth or warm as the 700. I broke them in for about a day, didn't seem to make much difference.
The biggest problem with cheap headphones is that the mids and highs often sound brittle and artificial. Difficult to find an earphone with smooth mids and highs. The NE-700 while not the most accurate earphones out there does have a smooth, warm sound that is difficult to find in other earphones. So, my recommendation remains the NE-700 for now.

Incredible Earbuds!Jan 18, 2012
By Pathfinder After reading many reviews in my search for new earphones, I had decided on and was prepared to order the model 700x Nuforce when I came across a review for these buds (The 770x) on HeadFi.org. The summary of their test indicated that these earbuds (770x) had the same audio performance more or less as their big brother the 700X but at a lower cost. They finished their review by saying that these buds were the best bang for the buck.
So, based on their review, I ordered these Nuforce 770X from Amazon but shipped from Nuforce. Delivery came about four days before the predicted date. Bravo, Nuforce! I carefully unwrapped them and plugged them into my Ipod expecting wonderful sounds. Wrong! There was a strong reverb on the bass that absolutely overwhelmed the mid-range. Garbage! Oh no! I thought. I plugged in some old V-Moda earbuds and they sounded great. So, it wasn't my Ipod.
My heart sank, Oh no, I bought a turkey!
Non the less, I figured some burn in time might help along with getting the correct sized tips for my ears. The smaller tips helped some but the terrible sounding bass continued. It was awful. After about two hours of burn in, with a heavy heart, I listened to them again.
Something must have snapped inside those tiny earbuds because they now sounded like totally different units! They were and still are just great!!! What great sounds they reproduce! The bass is perfect as are the mids and the highs just sparkle! I can't say enough about how good they are.
Ramsey Lewis sounds like he is in your living room on the piano. Voices are clear. You want to wring out a set of headphones or earbuds, try JS Bach's Toccata and Fugue with the volume cranked. Wow! you feel like you are in an organ concert hall! These tiny things handle all of it with no problem! I have an appointment with my dentist to have my fillings put back in :>) (Just joking)
Other than my initial bass problem that disappeared, these earbuds are really great units and are indeed the best bang for your buck! Do yourself a favor and order them. You won't regret your purchase.
Update: I apologize for the mis-nomer "buds" or "earbuds". They should be more correctly called "earphones" or "IEM".
Nice sound and good valueFeb 17, 2012
By von Diesel For those of you familiar with NuForce earphones, the NE-770X are a less expensive/plastic version of the NE-700X. In my experience, they are a little more forward in the mids with a little less shimmer in the highs when compared to their more expensive siblings. The bass is about the same, which is to say that it is tight, solid, and does not overpower the other frequencies. Overall, they sound very good and are reasonably priced. Those of you looking for a lower-cost alternative to the NE-700X should give these a try.
