5I'd take these over the Zino's or iCans!Sep 30, 2009
By M. Scarlett "fakeheadphones"
Well, I got the full set finally, the Ultrasone iCans, the Zino's and these Nuforce UF30's and Ultrasone HFI-15G. In the past i was very harsh about the UF30's stating that they would be a rehashed version of the iCans, and a bad rehashing at that. How wrong I was. Lets get one thing out of the way, in terms of detail and clarity the iCans (now discontinued) are the best with the Zino's second and the UF30's third. But don't let that put you off 'cause there's a bit "BUT". Ultrasone have still not sorted out the issue of the iCans dreadfully recessed midrange ... Nuforce have! Further more, the UF30's aren't so dependent on an amp to make them sound half decent. The Zino's I wouldn't use without an amp ... nothing drastic, a Fiio amp should do.

Playing 'The Breakfast Club' sound track, the Nuforce are far more coherent, far better balanced. The Zino's midrange has been masked slightly by the new 40mm drivers giving extra bass, but the recessed midrange is still very present. Sure the Zino's are more detailed and weighty, but what a price to pay!

As someone who loves Ultrasone (currently 7 pairs) it breaks my heart, but the HFI-15G's are still Ultrasone's best portable headphones. In fact the HFI-15G are up there with my all time favorites. As for the Nuforce UF30 headphones, they have all the good things about the Ultrasone's; design and build quality, and none of the bad; dreadful out of sync midrange issue. Choice of Zino's or UF30 headphones? I go with the UF30 headphones.

3too tight on my earsDec 27, 2010

I bought these thinking they would be light on my ears from a reveiw i had read. But, after wearing them for short time my ears began to hurt from the pressure. Therefore, i put them back in their case and haven't used them since.

I am an audiophile and into good sounds. This headphone is very good value for the price you don't need anything more.I have other headphones in my collection,I seem to use this Nuforce more often.
I suggest anyone wanting a reasonably price good headphone should try this one before buying one.
